CHAPTER 1

Define which positions and functions matter

Ask whether the priority is a usable driving position, a passenger comfort feature or adjustment between users. The dated equipment comparison keeps a package description in its relevant period. Do not transfer one reference's seat list to every offered year.

Keep mandatory movement or function separate from colour and appearance. The buyer may value one item while ignoring another expensive extra. Record original evidence and disclosed changes rather than assuming the current seat matches the factory description because its trim looks familiar.

CHAPTER 2

Observe normal function and fit independently

Request suitable ordinary demonstrations with the selected position and modes identified. A working indicator is not the complete result. Retain warnings, faults and untested features instead of calling the whole package operational from a short clip.

The driver-position review distinguishes achieved fit from powered movement. Personal comfort may remain unresolved remotely even when the function is demonstrated. Keep comments tied to the observer and conditions rather than promising the same result to every occupant on a longer trip.

CHAPTER 3

Review condition and relevant work

Obtain clear views of seats, controls and disclosed repairs. Material descriptions should follow supported records rather than photographs alone. Appropriate providers should assess reported issues before the dealer assigns a remedy or presumed component amount.

The individual inspection scope preserves those findings alongside the complete car. New proposals still need delivered specification and condition checks. A clean seat does not establish every function, and a useful optional feature cannot certify battery, powertrain or overall condition.

CHAPTER 4

Compare the useful premium after preparation

Price a supported completed remedy where needed and retain receiving-provider limitations. The age and equipment decision places seat value beside the customer's other essentials. An option that remains unconfirmed should not receive the same credit as a demonstrated required benefit.

The shared-driver adjustment review treats another specific convenience need independently. A simpler supported seat may be suitable; a mandatory function may require another candidate. Neither route needs a universal comfort, durability or resale guarantee from the package name.

CHAPTER 5

A customer prioritising one movement

Suppose the buyer requests powered seats because a previous vehicle could not provide the required position. Identify which movement matters and demonstrate the achieved setup. An L6 with more comfort modes can still fail that essential, while another supported arrangement may fulfil it without the same premium.

Retain the rear occupants after the accepted front setting. If a feature requires work, record completion evidence before assigning full working value. A replacement seat or different build needs the affected review again. The retail explanation should follow useful supported functions and condition rather than the number of icons in a menu.

Evidence to keep with the decision

  1. Specify which occupant needs which seat function and why, distinguishing adjustment, temperature-related comfort and other advertised features. Preserve evidence of the actual installed configuration rather than assuming an upholstered appearance, trim badge or older launch description establishes the full package in the offered vehicle.
  2. Record the normal driver and passenger positions used to judge benefit. A short seated demonstration cannot establish every person's comfort over a longer journey; identify the movements and functions observed, the users represented and the remaining personal-fit question before treating a comfort premium as worthwhile.
  3. Keep controls and operating media linked to the actual car reference. Ask for a clear explanation of the demonstrated setting rather than interpreting a screen icon as completed operation; a function visible in a menu still needs its relevant response and limits shown for the proposed unit.
  4. Retain visible seat condition, disclosed repairs and qualified findings where required. Do not allow successful adjustment to stand in for a complete assessment of upholstery, wiring or mechanisms, and distinguish observed operation from a seller's promise that a present fault will be addressed before handover.
  5. Ask about supported remedy for a known issue and preserve the completed preparation evidence. A discount for an unavailable comfort function is not the same proposition as a working feature; confirm whether the buyer accepts the loss rather than pricing it through an invented universal option value.
  6. Write the useful benefit that justifies the premium beside equivalent offer scope. If the customer values only one part of a package, keep that priority explicit and retain a suitable simpler alternative. Recheck both function and condition when a different car replaces the initially assessed example.

Questions buyers ask

Do powered controls guarantee a useful position?

No. Actual fit and required movement need their own assessment.

Does a menu prove every seat function works?

No. Identify and demonstrate the relevant normal functions on the candidate.
