CHAPTER 1

Separate essential benefits from attractive extras

Ask the dealer to identify the functions its customer must have. These may concern passenger fit, a specific control or a supported operating arrangement. Keep colour and other preferences separate. The period-specific trim comparison explains why a familiar label needs its actual production context.

Do not count every older option as equal buying value. A feature that will not be used should not displace necessary preparation. Conversely, a basic-looking newer proposal may contain the function that matters. Obtain identified cars in both columns instead of comparing one real offer with an imagined ideal version.

CHAPTER 2

Date the configuration accurately

Use the model-period identity guide to retain production, registration and advertised year separately. Manufacturer announcements are reference points; they cannot establish every individual build. A photo of the latest car should not accompany an earlier candidate's description.

Review each offered specification from appropriate records. Similar naming can hide changes in fitted systems or useful cabin functions. Leave missing information pending rather than borrowing a favourable detail from another period. The dealer needs to know what each car actually provides before deciding which age trade-off is acceptable.

CHAPTER 3

Verify the features behind the premium

Demonstrate the relevant ordinary functions safely and retain any faults or disclosed changes. A screen menu or visible control can support identification while leaving operation unresolved. The seat-benefit purchase review illustrates an option whose value depends on personal needs and actual condition.

Ask a suitable provider to assess reported issues before assigning a repair allowance. An inexpensive component listing is not a finished remedy. The older car's equipment premium should reflect useful supported functions after work, not a promise that every option will be restored later.

CHAPTER 4

Compare the complete prepared amounts

Align currency, agreed work, supplied items and delivery stage. The commercial scope guide keeps those lines distinguishable. A lower amount can conceal pending preparation, while a newer candidate still needs supported status and delivery-condition checks.

Avoid universal reliability or resale claims. A dealer can prefer either car when the accepted requirements and evidence explain the choice. Retain the customer's compromise rather than silently treating a discount or a higher package as permission to ignore a mandatory history or function limit.

CHAPTER 5

A seat-led choice across two periods

Suppose the older offer provides a desired seat function while the newer car has an attractive date but unconfirmed useful adjustment. Establish both positions and condition before choosing. If the newer seat meets the actual need another way, the older option may have less extra value than its description suggests.

If only the older candidate fulfils the requirement, obtain its supported finished preparation and retain the accepted age trade-off. A later substitute needs its own configuration and findings. Another staff member should be able to explain the selected benefit without recreating the negotiation or ranking every L6 by an unqualified trim hierarchy.

Evidence to keep with the decision

  1. Write the two actual candidate references beside the customer's budget and essential equipment. Keep production, first registration and the source of each configuration claim separate; a later registration date cannot establish that the quoted car incorporates a later manufacturer update or a particular function.
  2. Retain a short account of how each wanted option serves the buyer. A frequently used adjustment may justify further consideration, whereas an attractive package name alone does not. Record which requirement the customer would give up before accepting the cheaper or more recently registered candidate.
  3. Attach current condition evidence to the individual cars, including the scope and date of the relevant assessment. Do not transfer a favourable report between similar examples or let a preferred specification turn an unexamined vehicle into the assumed better purchase merely through equipment appeal.
  4. Compare the amounts at the same commercial stage, with currency, included preparation and supplied items identified. Where the older candidate requires supported work, distinguish the completed result from a proposed allowance; a small initial saving can represent a different deliverable rather than equivalent value.
  5. Keep service and function availability answers alongside the actual hardware and receiving-user needs. A demonstration in the seller's account or environment does not prove that the next user can operate the wanted function after transfer, nor that the destination provider can address a known fault.
  6. Record the final accepted trade-off in ordinary language, naming the car and any unresolved question. If a different unit is substituted, reopen identity, condition and equipment acceptance rather than carrying the earlier approval forward because its advertised year and translated trim appear sufficiently similar.

Questions buyers ask

Must the newer L6 be the better purchase?

No. Compare the actual benefits, condition and finished scope within the buyer's requirements.

Can a trim label establish its whole equipment list?

No. Tie it to the relevant period and offered configuration.

BRING THE REQUIREMENT INTO YOUR BRIEF

Discuss a suitable Li L6 offer.

Share destination, quantity, new-or-used preference and the requirements that determine acceptance. Include a year or version preference where it matters; actual availability and purchase terms need separate confirmation.
